Denison Education Foundation’s Tinka Looney Memorial Golf Classic

The Denison Education Foundation began an annual golf classic fundraiser in 1999 in honor of Tinka Looney, a deceased community leader who devoted much of her life to helping improve Denison schools. This year's event was held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Denison Country Club. The golf tournament averages 100-120 golfers each year. Local businesses and individuals generously support this event at different sponsor levels, as well as donate items for a raffle which is also held during the tournament. Proceeds from the Tinka Looney Memorial Golf Classic directly benefit Denison school students through funding of classroom grants for Denison ISD students, grades PreK-12.To date, D.E.F. has distributed over $553,000.00 to Denison schools for programs and projects which have impacted the lives of all Denison ISD students.
