Description of Reading Intervention Program The Reading Intervention Program provides personalized, focused, assessment-driven instruction for students who struggle as they develop reading skills. Areas of literacy development include phonemic awareness, phonics, word reading, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and writing. Each student's progress is continuously assessed, and instruction is adjusted accordingly. Students enter and exit the rEading Intervention program as needed throughout the school year. The goal is to accelerate the child's literacy learning so as to be commensurate with grade-level expectaions.
