Denison High School

Parking Notice

We are respectfully asking all Denison ISD Personnel and Event Volunteers who will be involved in the DISD 5K for Kindness to park in the following areas:

DHS Faculty Parking (Directly in front of the DHS Main Entrance) or DHS Gym/Theater/Tennis Parking (Directly behind the school)

Due to an athletic construction project, there are a limited number of parking spaces in the parking lot nearest the starting line.  That is the parking lot that is just west of the Indoor Athletic Facility.

Our small gesture of parking farther away so that our guests may park closer is a display of kindness.  Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation!  It’s great to be a Yellowjacket!

Be a part of something special!

Beginning in 2019, the 5K for Kindness will serve to remember our beloved Rachel Ramer, Scott Middle School Algebra Teacher, who so bravely battled leukemia for the past 3 years.  A portion of the proceeds will be used to establish an endowed scholarship in Rachel’s memory.  Profits will also be donated to the Denison Education Foundation & the Boys and Girls Club of Denison.

Please take a moment to view the video below that highlights the life of Rachel Ramer through the thoughts and memories shared by some of her former students. Special thanks to Denison HS senior Gracie Gardner for her outstanding production of this video.
