

DEF awards 2017 Fall Grants
Board members of Denison ISD’s Education Foundation recently surprised five talented DISD teachers with classroom grant awards worth almost $22,000, bringing DEF classroom grant totals to $768,089.84 which have impacted the lives of thousands of Denison children. Dancing Grannies At Lamar Elementary
Lamar students took part in a coin drive to raise money for United Way and the winning grade level team had to dress up like old grannies and dance at our assembly. Kindergarten collected the most money (over $200) and had to "Walk it out like Granny" as they danced to the "Sid Shuffle Song" for the student body. We raised over $500 in coins as we collected a different coin each week for the month of October. Robert Crawley at First United Bank offered to match up to $200
