Comp Time

ACADEMIC COMP DAYS

October 14 and January 20 of the 2024-25 school year have been designated as the academic comp days. To be eligible to have a paid day of employment you must have attended at least six hours of approved staff development for each comp day; therefore, each employee will need to accumulate 12 hours of Comp Time for the 2024-25 school year.  You must have attended training 'on your own time'. Sessions held after school hours, on weekends, on school holidays, or during the summer after contracts end are eligible to be considered for comp time. If you are paid for your time, you cannot count the training as comp time.

Each employee may find his/her current Comp Time in Power School Professional Learning by clicking on "Transcript".

Documentation of attendance for sessions that are not offered in Denison ISD will be required. Please submit certificates of attendance as an out-of-district request in Power School Professional Learning by following these steps:

To submit certificates for out-of-district professional learning sessions or college hours:

  1. Click OUT-OF-DISTRICT REQUEST in the top menu bar.

  2. To the right of the screen, click NEW REQUEST and OUT-OF-DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL LEARNING.

  3. Complete the Upload Wizard.

  4. Attach your Certificate of Attendance or College Transcript.

  5. List your Credit Type Request(s) in the Description Box.

  6. Click SUBMIT FOR CREDIT APPROVAL.


If sessions are attended other than those offered by the district, prior permission must be obtained before those session will be counted as satisfying district requirements for comp time.
