Pre-K Program Information
Prekindergarten is a full day, state-funded program for 4-year-old preschool children. Transportation is not provide for PreK students.

The child must be at least four years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year

The child must live in Denison ISD
-
The child must meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:

Unable to speak and comprehend the English language
-
Income eligible based on current NSLP income eligibility guidelines
-
Actively enrolled in SNAP or TANF benefits
-
Homeless
-
Foster care (former or current)
-
Child of an active duty member of the U.S. armed forces
-
Child of a member of the U.S. armed forces who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
-
Child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer, a firefighter, or an emergency medical first-responder
-
Child was enrolled in Pre-K last year in another Texas district as a 3 year old
-
Child of 2026-2027 Denison ISD teacher
-
Enrollment Documents:

Original birth certificate
-
Child's Social Security Card
-
Current immunization record or exemption form (Original Affidavit is required)

Proof of residency (One of the following is required):
-
A current utility bill under your name (Gas, Water, or Electric)

A current lease agreement that includes all occupants living in the apartment/house and contains all required signatures

A current mortgage statement

**If the documents are not in your name:

You and the resident must complete a District Residency Affidavit at the campus/administration office; notary services are available on site at no cost.

The resident must provide one of the documents listed above in their name and a valid photo ID with a matching address.

Proof of Income:

Active SNAP or TANF Benefits Letter (EDG # required)

4 most recent pay stubs for each job and for each person employed in the household

If you’re self-employed, we require your most recent tax Form 1040. In addition, please provide verification of filing, such as a receipt from the individual or service who prepared your taxes, or an email confirmation from the IRS indicating your return has been filed.

After the online application is submitted, a district employee will contact the family to begin the qualification process. Please note, submission of the documents above is part of the qualification process. Enrollment will NOT be approved until all documents are received and eligibility is verified. This includes all required Texas vaccinations.
