DHS Texas Scholars celebrate success
Denison High School’s 2019 Texas Scholars gathered with school and community leaders at Loy Park’s Mayor Arena in mid-April to celebrate an important academic achievement: the successful completion of the more rigorous high school curriculum as recommended by the State of Texas. Sponsored and hosted annually by the Denison Education Foundation and the Denison Chamber of Commerce, school officials presented the 136 Texas Scholars with medals recognizing their accomplishments. They also commended them for choosing to take the tougher courses, and working hard to complete them.
“We are all tremendously proud of your achievements, we thank you for your hard work, determination and dedication…and we encourage each of you to continue down this path of excellence,” said DHS Principal Dr. Cavin Boettger. “We challenge you to continue to make good choices, to take the high road and the paths less traveled…with the goal of accomplishing great things and reaching your full potential in everything you do. In the end, our communities and the world will be better places because of you.”
