Clear Bag Policy
The Denison ISD Clear Bag Policy, in conjunction with Denison ISD Board of Trustees policy, and University Interscholastic League (UIL) guidelines, applies to all events and activities held at Denison ISD facilities including athletic events and other ticketed events.
All bags are subject to search.

Public Notice: Destruction of Special Education Records
Notice is hereby given that Denison ISD will destroy special education records of students who received services and have been inactive
since 2016-2017 school year. This action is in compliance with federal and state regulations to protect student privacy.
Records to be destroyed: Special education records of students who graduated, been dismissed, withdrawn from the district,
or otherwise have been inactive for the last 7 years.
Date of Destruction: September 2, 2024
How to Obtain Records: Former students 18 years or older, or their legal guardians, may obtain their records before the destruction date by contacting Denison ISD Special Education Office at 903-462-7020. After the destruction date, records will no longer be available.

RENEWAL OF DISTRICT OF INNOVATION PLAN
The District’s plan is to renew our District of Innovation exemption, by exempting the district from the uniform school start date.
This allows flexibility to consider starting school earlier in August and ending the school year prior to Memorial Day in May. It also allows for completing the first semester prior to Christmas Holiday break.
