Dancing Grannies At Lamar Elementary

Lamar students took part in a coin drive to raise money for United Way and the winning grade level team had to dress up like old grannies and dance at our assembly. Kindergarten collected the most money (over $200) and had to "Walk it out like Granny" as they danced to the "Sid Shuffle Song" for the student body. We raised over $500 in coins as we collected a different coin each week for the month of October. Robert Crawley at First United Bank offered to match up to $200 for Lamar, giving us a grand total donation of over $700 for the United Way Campaign. The Kinder teachers who danced were: Ashley Smith, Kelsey Leak, Brittany Gaston and Monica Moran. Also joining the dance crew were: Coach Charles Bollinger, Stacey Grantland, Katy Price, and Lamar Principal, Janet Mobley. :)
